Job Description
Ward-Brodt Music Company is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Private Piano Teacher to join our esteemed team. This flexible, part-time position offers the opportunity to teach piano to students of various ages and skill levels, either within our vibrant studio located near Capitol Square or through home-based lessons (which may include virtual instruction or travel to student residences). We are looking for an individual with a strong musical background, excellent pedagogical skills, and a genuine passion for inspiring students. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging and individualized piano lessons tailored to student needs, goals, and learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for recitals, examinations, and other performance opportunities as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding progress, challenges, and lesson plans.
- Maintain a professional and positive learning environment.
- Manage scheduling for lessons efficiently, adhering to agreed-upon availability.
- Stay current with best practices in piano pedagogy and music education.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in piano performance and theory (equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Music or higher).
- Proven ability to teach piano to diverse age groups (children, teenagers, adults).
- Strong pedagogical skills and a patient, encouraging teaching style.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Piano Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching private piano lessons in a school or studio setting.
- Experience with various teaching methodologies (e.g., Suzuki, traditional).
- Familiarity with music technology for remote teaching.
- Access to a reliable instrument for teaching (if home-based virtual instruction).
