Job Description
Join XPO Logistics as a Port Authority Warehouse Aide with a Global Trade focus in our Orem, Utah facility. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals eager to start a career in logistics and global supply chain operations. You will play a vital role in the efficient movement of goods, contributing to the seamless flow of international and domestic cargo through our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, picking, and shipping products, with an emphasis on understanding and adhering to global trade compliance procedures. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general warehouse duties including receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing materials and products.
- Operate various warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Prepare orders for shipment, including picking, packing, labeling, and staging goods according to customer and global trade specifications.
- Assist with inventory management, including conducting cycle counts and maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and global trade compliance procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse flow and resolve operational issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Document and report any discrepancies, damages, or issues related to inventory or shipments.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and inventory scanning.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Basic understanding of global trade documentation or procedures.
