Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Policy Simulation Aide with a focus on WFH Tech Support to join our innovative team. This 100% remote position is crucial for supporting our policy simulation initiatives, ensuring smooth technical operations, and providing assistance to remote team members. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of analytical skills, technical proficiency, and excellent communication abilities to facilitate policy research and maintain a robust technical environment for our distributed workforce. You will play a vital role in data collection, basic analysis, system maintenance, and user support, contributing directly to projects that inform critical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, organization, and preliminary analysis of data relevant to policy simulation models.
  • Provide front-line technical support for remote team members, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues specific to home office environments.
  • Maintain and update documentation for policy simulation tools and technical support procedures.
  • Help configure and test simulation parameters under guidance from senior analysts.
  • Monitor the performance of simulation software and report any discrepancies or errors.
  • Collaborate with policy researchers to understand their technical needs and translate them into actionable support tasks.
  • Ensure data integrity and security practices are adhered to within the simulation environment.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in both policy analysis and technical support.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in basic data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Strong understanding of common operating systems (Windows, macOS) and office productivity suites.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical support and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively in a 100% remote team environment.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (VPN, home Wi-Fi configurations).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Experience with helpdesk software or IT service management systems.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Prior experience in a remote work setting.
