Job Description

Join Electronic Arts as a Playtester with a corporate site focus in Carmel, Indiana. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and is crucial for ensuring the quality and playability of our upcoming titles. You will be an integral part of our development process, providing detailed feedback on gameplay, functionality, and user experience from our dedicated testing facility. This is an on-site position, requiring daily presence at our Carmel office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and scripts to identify bugs, glitches, and other issues in pre-release games.
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable written and verbal feedback on gameplay mechanics, user interface, and overall user experience.
  • Document defects using bug tracking software, including steps to reproduce, severity, and impact.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, designers, and quality assurance engineers to communicate findings.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings to discuss testing progress and critical issues.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols regarding unreleased game content.
  • Contribute to improving testing processes and methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for video games and familiarity with various genres and platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle inconsistencies or defects.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate feedback effectively.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in quality assurance (QA) or game testing.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Knowledge of game development pipelines or testing methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex game systems and provide structured feedback.
  • Experience with different gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
