Job Description

As a Pinterest Compliance Officer with a regulatory focus, you will play a critical role in shaping and maintaining Pinterest’s compliance posture. This is a 100% remote position where you will be responsible for monitoring the evolving regulatory landscape, assessing its impact on Pinterest’s products and operations, and ensuring the development and implementation of robust compliance programs. You will work cross-functionally with legal, engineering, product, and policy teams to embed compliance by design, mitigate risks, and foster a culture of integrity. Your expertise in data privacy, content moderation, and financial regulations will be essential in navigating complex global requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor global regulatory developments related to social media platforms, advertising, data privacy, consumer protection, and financial services.
  • Conduct regulatory impact assessments for new products, features, and business initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls aligned with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Advise product, engineering, and business teams on compliance best practices and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead or support internal and external compliance audits and assessments.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings as required.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Investigate and respond to compliance inquiries, issues, and incidents.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret complex regulations and provide actionable guidance.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging compliance technologies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs role within the technology or social media industry.
  • Proven experience with global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, LGPD) and content moderation policies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting online platforms, including advertising standards, consumer protection laws, and financial regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex compliance concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field; JD or advanced degree highly preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CAMS, CFE).
  • Experience working directly with regulatory bodies or in-house legal departments.
  • Familiarity with compliance management systems and GRC tools.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing compliance programs from scratch.
