Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance verification, and billing.
- Maintain inventory, including receiving, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare and package medications for delivery or patient pickup, ensuring proper labeling.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as UW Health policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience
- Interest in healthcare or pharmacy
- Enrollment in or completion of a pharmacy technician training program
