Job Description

Veritext Legal Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Online Google Transcription Assistant with a specialized focus on medical and legal content. This remote, full-time position involves transcribing audio recordings of legal proceedings, medical depositions, interviews, and other sensitive information. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional listening skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of legal and medical terminology. You will be utilizing various digital tools, potentially including Google Suite applications, to ensure accurate and timely transcription that adheres to strict industry standards. This role is crucial in supporting our legal and medical clients by converting spoken words into precise written documentation, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of all data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe audio recordings of legal depositions, medical consultations, court proceedings, and interviews with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to specific formatting guidelines and client requirements.
  • Verify proper terminology, particularly in complex medical and legal contexts, utilizing provided reference materials and online resources.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple transcription projects simultaneously to meet strict deadlines and turnaround times.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all sensitive information handled, adhering to company and industry privacy policies.
  • Utilize transcription software and potentially Google Workspace tools efficiently to optimize workflow and productivity.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and project managers regarding project status, potential challenges, and workload.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and evolving industry standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in transcription, data entry, or administrative roles demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Exceptional listening skills and high attention to detail for accurate transcription.
  • Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Familiarity with medical and/or legal terminology.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain productivity in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs).
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certification in transcription, legal studies, medical office administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience specifically in legal or medical transcription.
  • Experience with professional transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, FTR Gold).
  • Basic understanding of legal procedures, court documentation, or medical recordkeeping.
  • Typing speed of 70+ WPM with demonstrated high accuracy.
