Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Night Porter to join our team at Cedar Court Hotel Wakefield. This unique opportunity includes a live-in arrangement with all meals provided, offering a stable and supportive environment. As a Night Porter, you will be crucial to ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of our guests during the overnight hours. You will handle guest inquiries, assist with check-ins/outs, manage security patrols, and perform light cleaning duties, all while upholding our high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular security patrols of the hotel premises, reporting any issues.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to all guest requests and inquiries during the night shift.
  • Assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures, accurately processing payments.
  • Handle phone calls and manage reservations as required.
  • Prepare and serve continental breakfast items in the early morning.
  • Perform light cleaning tasks and ensure public areas are tidy and presentable.
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to ensure the safety and security of guests and property.
  • Set up meeting rooms or event spaces as per morning requirements.
  • Complete all necessary night audit paperwork and reports.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any emergencies, following established protocols.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • A proactive and helpful attitude.
  • Ability to handle minor guest issues professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS).
