Job Description
Are you looking for a stable, full-time role in a dynamic industrial environment? Elis is seeking a reliable and motivated Laundry Assistant to join our team in Exeter. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a structured setting and are looking for a straightforward, ‘no stress’ position where you can contribute to a vital service. You will play a key part in the efficient processing of laundry items for our diverse client base, ensuring high standards of hygiene and quality are maintained. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for those new to the industrial laundry sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and ironers safely and efficiently.
- Sort, load, and unload laundry items according to established procedures.
- Inspect items for damage or stains and report issues as necessary.
- Fold, stack, and prepare finished laundry for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move laundry items (up to 20kg).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail to ensure quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry, warehouse, or industrial environment is a plus, but not essential.
- Understanding of basic health and safety practices.
