Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Systems Specialist (LIMS) to join our dynamic team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. You will be instrumental in the configuration, maintenance, and support of our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), ensuring seamless data flow, integrity, and efficiency for our critical scientific processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for our LIMS, including configuration, master data management, and security settings.
  • Provide first-line and second-line support to laboratory personnel for all LIMS-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with laboratory scientists to understand their needs and translate them into LIMS functionalities, workflows, and enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for LIMS configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides.
  • Assist in the planning, testing, and implementation of LIMS upgrades, patches, and new module deployments.
  • Conduct user training sessions to ensure proficient use of LIMS across various laboratory groups.
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GxP, ISO), and adherence to internal quality systems.
  • Work closely with IT infrastructure teams to ensure system performance, connectivity, and data backup strategies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and data management practices.
  • Generate custom reports and dashboards from LIMS to support operational and analytical requirements.

Required Skills

  • 2-3 years of direct experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) suchs as LabWare LIMS, Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS, STARLIMS, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory processes, scientific workflows, and data management in a chemistry or life science environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting software applications and basic IT infrastructure issues.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related scientific/technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL for database querying and reporting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GxP, GLP, or 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Experience with other lab informatics systems (e.g., ELN, CDS).
  • Basic understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBScript) or report writing tools.
  • Project management experience, particularly in system implementation or upgrade projects.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
