Job Description
As a Junior Netflix Designer with a focus on User Interface, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the visual and interactive aspects of our streaming platform. This entry-level position is perfect for a passionate and creative individual eager to learn and contribute to a world-class product. You will collaborate with senior designers, product managers, and engineers to translate complex ideas into intuitive and engaging user experiences across various devices, from TVs to mobile phones. Your work will directly impact how millions of users discover, watch, and interact with their favorite content on Netflix.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and iteration of user interfaces for new features and existing products, ensuring a consistent and compelling visual language.
- Contribute to the creation of wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Participate in user research and usability testing sessions to gather insights and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and content, to ensure design feasibility and successful implementation.
- Help maintain and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all platforms.
- Stay updated on industry trends, design tools, and best practices to continually enhance the user experience.
- Present design concepts and solicit feedback from team members and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in UI design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- A strong online portfolio showcasing UI design projects, including school projects or personal initiatives.
- Fundamental understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for pixel-perfect design and visual polish.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or a related field.
- Familiarity with motion design principles or animation software.
- Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Experience with A/B testing or data-driven design approaches.
- Previous internship or project experience in a design role, particularly within tech or media.
