Job Description
We are seeking a warm, responsible, and energetic Weekend Live-in Au Pair to join a loving family in McKinney, Texas. This part-time position is ideal for an international student looking for a supportive home environment, cultural exchange, and a chance to experience American life while contributing to a family’s well-being. You will be responsible for providing childcare and light household support primarily on weekends, ensuring the children’s safety, engagement, and development. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a family, offering a private room, board, and a weekly stipend in exchange for your dedicated care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and loving care for children (ages 5 and 8) during designated weekend hours.
- Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities, games, and outings.
- Prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks for children.
- Assist with children's bedtime routines.
- Perform light household tasks related to children, such as tidying play areas and children's laundry.
- Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's activities and any concerns.
- Drive children to activities if needed (a family car will be provided for this purpose).
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience caring for children, ideally with references.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
- Patient, kind, and nurturing demeanor.
- Ability to adapt to a new cultural environment.
- Valid driver's license (or willingness to obtain one quickly).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an au pair or nanny.
- Background in early childhood education or a related field.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Interest in cultural exchange and integrating into a family dynamic.
