Job Description
Join Traffic Management Inc. as a Government Roadworks Flagger / Traffic Control specialist. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in road safety and traffic management. We provide comprehensive paid training to equip you with all the necessary skills and certifications to safely and effectively direct traffic, protect workers, and ensure public safety at various road construction and maintenance sites. You will be an essential part of our team, contributing directly to the smooth flow of traffic and the prevention of accidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively control traffic flow using stop/slow paddles, flags, and other signaling devices.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and construction personnel.
- Set up and take down temporary traffic control zones according to safety guidelines and project plans.
- Monitor traffic patterns and adjust control methods as needed to maintain safety.
- Maintain constant vigilance for potential hazards and communicate concerns to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with basic site setup and equipment handling as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites in the Hesperia area.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar outdoor or labor-intensive role is a plus, but not required.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- ATSSA or CCA Flagger certification (we offer paid training to obtain this).
