Job Description
Join FedEx Freight as a Linehaul Solo Driver and become a vital part of our robust transportation network. This role offers the stability of guaranteed minimum weekly pay, allowing you to focus on safe and efficient long-haul operations without the typical uncertainties of mileage-based pay. You will be responsible for the transportation of freight between FedEx Freight service centers, primarily operating solo. We prioritize safety, professionalism, and timely deliveries, supporting our drivers with state-of-the-art equipment and a strong commitment to work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Transport freight between FedEx Freight service centers efficiently and on schedule.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Complete and maintain accurate electronic logs and required paperwork.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations personnel.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with hazardous materials, tank, and double/triple endorsements.
- Minimum of 24 months (2 years) verifiable experience operating a Class A tractor-trailer.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Ability to lift and/or move freight weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LTL freight transportation.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
