Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Digital Map Verifier with exceptional local geography knowledge of Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of TomTom’s digital maps, contributing directly to the quality of navigation experiences for millions worldwide. Your primary responsibility will be to review, verify, and improve map data using internal tools and your deep understanding of local road networks, points of interest, and geographical features. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and validate geographical data, including road networks, addresses, and points of interest, against various sources.
- Utilize internal mapping tools and software to identify, analyze, and correct discrepancies in map data.
- Provide constructive feedback on data quality and tool functionality to improve verification processes.
- Stay up-to-date with local geographical changes and developments within the specified region.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency and high quality of map data.
- Meet daily and weekly targets for map verification and data correction.
- Adhere to strict quality guidelines and standards set by TomTom.
Required Skills
- Exceptional knowledge of Birmingham and the surrounding West Midlands geography, including major roads, landmarks, and districts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using computer applications and navigating web-based tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in map verification, data entry, or quality assurance roles.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or mapping software.
- Experience using navigation systems or digital maps regularly.
