Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dairy Farm Milking Assistant to join our team in Rutland, Vermont. This full-time, on-site position involves early morning shifts, playing a crucial role in the daily operations of our dairy farm. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining high standards of animal welfare and hygiene. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate milking equipment safely and efficiently during early morning shifts.
  • Prepare cows for milking, including pre-dipping, wiping, and post-dipping udders.
  • Monitor cows for any signs of illness or injury and report observations to farm management.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the milking parlor, equipment, and surrounding areas.
  • Assist with the movement of cows to and from the milking parlor.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of milking machines and related facilities.
  • Adhere to all animal welfare and hygiene protocols.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift moderate weights, and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
