Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chemical Bench Technician to join our dynamic research and development team in Round Rock, TX. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of routine laboratory tests and experiments, strictly adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Accurately prepare chemical solutions, reagents, and diverse samples for subsequent analysis.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain an array of laboratory equipment, including but not limited to pH meters, spectrometers, and chromatographs.
  • Meticulously record and document all experimental data, observations, and results in a timely and organized manner.
  • Provide active support to senior scientists in the methodical setup and efficient execution of more complex experiments.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals, initiating procurement orders as necessary to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure unwavering compliance with all company safety regulations, environmental policies, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Actively contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and highly efficient laboratory workspace.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or a closely related scientific field is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and unwavering accuracy in performing all laboratory tasks.
  • Proven ability to precisely follow detailed instructions and complex laboratory protocols.
  • A basic yet solid understanding of fundamental chemical principles and essential laboratory safety practices.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and also work productively independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior hands-on experience in a laboratory setting (academic internships or industrial co-ops are highly valued).
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.
  • Experience with basic analytical techniques such as titrations, gravimetric analysis, or spectrophotometry.
  • Knowledge of chemical hazard communication standards and proper chemical waste disposal procedures.
