Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Cellar Storage Planner with a strong focus on optimizing rack and bin storage systems. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient space utilization, accurate inventory placement, and streamlined retrieval processes within our specialized storage facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing storage plans, managing layouts for various products (including sensitive goods), and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain optimal storage plans for cellar and warehouse environments, with a specific emphasis on rack and bin configurations.
- Analyze inventory data, product dimensions, and movement patterns to maximize storage density and efficiency.
- Design and reconfigure storage layouts to accommodate new products, seasonal fluctuations, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations teams to ensure smooth execution of storage plans and efficient material flow.
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other planning tools to track inventory locations, optimize picking paths, and generate reports.
- Monitor and report on storage utilization, identifying areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Ensure all storage plans and layouts comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits of storage areas to verify accuracy and adherence to planned layouts.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall warehouse efficiency and capacity.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse planning, inventory management, or logistics operations (3+ years).
- Strong understanding of various rack and bin storage systems and their applications.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (e.g., SAP EWM, Manhattan Associates, JDA/Blue Yonder).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or facility layouts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD software or other space planning tools.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of specific storage requirements for temperature-sensitive or high-value goods.
- Previous experience in a beverage, food, or specialty goods warehousing environment.
