Job Description
Are you a motivated freshman looking for your first job experience? Target in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Casual Retail Stockist. This entry-level position is perfect for students or anyone new to the workforce who is eager to learn the fundamentals of retail operations in a supportive environment. As a Casual Retail Stockist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our shelves are well-stocked and our store is organized, contributing directly to a positive shopping experience for our guests. No prior experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive training and a welcoming team to help you succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload merchandise shipments efficiently and accurately.
- Organize and stock shelves, racks, and displays with new products according to planograms.
- Ensure products are correctly priced and clearly labeled.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe backroom and sales floor.
- Assist with inventory counts and contribute to loss prevention efforts.
- Support fellow team members and collaborate to achieve store goals.
- Help guests locate products and answer basic store-related questions as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in product placement.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (or currently pursuing).
- Prior experience in a retail environment (even volunteer work) is a plus but not required.
