Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Bread Delivery Offsider to join our dynamic night shift team in Whistler. This is a critical role responsible for assisting our delivery drivers in the efficient and safe transport of freshly baked bread and other bakery products from our distribution point to various retail locations throughout the Whistler area. You will be an essential part of ensuring our communities receive their fresh goods promptly, working overnight to prepare for the morning rush. This physical role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the driver with loading and unloading bread and bakery products from the delivery vehicle.
- Ensure accurate counting and sorting of products according to delivery manifests.
- Safely handle and transport products, minimizing damage and spoilage.
- Navigate delivery routes alongside the driver, assisting with directions as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and staging areas.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during shifts.
- Provide excellent support to the driver, ensuring timely deliveries.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work night shifts consistently.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in product handling.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or delivery support role.
- Familiarity with Whistler and surrounding areas.
- First Aid certification.
- Ability to work effectively in varying weather conditions.
