Job Description
As a PRN Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens in Wichita, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the efficient operation of the pharmacy. This flexible position allows you to work when it best suits your schedule, while still contributing to patient care and the success of our team. You will assist with prescription processing, customer service, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy system.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Process insurance claims and handle cash register transactions.
- Comply with all federal, state, and company regulations and policies.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or equivalent).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Experience with immunization support or other advanced technician duties.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
