Job Description

Are you passionate about providing compassionate care to newborns and their families? Sentara Healthcare is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Newborn Care Associates. This is an entry-level position where comprehensive training will be provided, making it an ideal opportunity for those eager to start a rewarding career in healthcare without prior experience. As a Newborn Care Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting new parents and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our newest patients in a hospital or clinic setting. You will work under the guidance of experienced nurses and healthcare professionals, learning essential skills in infant care and family support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff with daily care routines for newborns.
  • Provide support to new mothers and families, including feeding assistance and comfort measures.
  • Monitor infant vital signs and report any concerns to the nursing team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for newborns.
  • Document care activities accurately and efficiently.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications
