Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic Global Supply Chain team. This role will be pivotal in optimizing our procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of goods and services critical to our operations, specifically supporting our Houston-based global supply chain initiatives from our Oregon hub. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of supply chain principles, exceptional negotiation skills, and a commitment to driving efficiency and value.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for various categories of goods and services.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, resolving issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, logistics) to understand their needs and ensure timely material availability.
- Analyze market trends, spend data, and supply chain risks to inform procurement decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or strategic sourcing.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.).
- Experience with global supply chains and international sourcing.
- Knowledge of commodity markets and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
