Job Description

Goodwill Industries is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals for a Part-Time Clothing Sorter Gig. In this role, you will be at the heart of our operations, meticulously sorting through donated apparel and accessories, identifying quality items, and preparing them for sale in our retail stores. This gig is perfect for someone who enjoys a dynamic, hands-on environment and takes pride in contributing to a sustainable cycle of goods while supporting a meaningful cause.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently sort through large volumes of donated clothing, textiles, and accessories.
  • Inspect items for quality, condition, cleanliness, and suitability for resale.
  • Categorize clothing by type, size, season, and potential market value.
  • Identify and separate items that are damaged, stained, or unsuitable for sale, directing them to appropriate recycling channels.
  • Hang, tag, and prepare sorted items for transport to the retail floor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the sorting area.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily sorting quotas and operational goals.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality clothing items.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs), and move around for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of fashion trends and clothing categories.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail, merchandising, or warehouse sorting.
  • Familiarity with various clothing brands and fabric types.
