Job Description

Join our energetic team at Southwest Airlines as a Part-time Passenger Service Agent at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. This weekend-focused role is perfect for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced aviation environment. You will be the face of Southwest, assisting passengers with check-ins, baggage, boarding, and ensuring a smooth and positive travel experience from arrival to departure. This position plays a critical role in maintaining our commitment to legendary hospitality and operational excellence during peak weekend travel times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet passengers warmly and assist with check-in procedures, including verifying travel documents and assigning seats.
  • Handle passenger inquiries, provide flight information, and resolve travel-related issues with empathy and efficiency.
  • Assist passengers with baggage handling procedures, including tagging, weighing, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Facilitate the boarding process, make announcements, and ensure all passengers are prepared for departure.
  • Coordinate with various airport personnel, including ground staff and flight crew, to ensure timely and safe operations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, upholding Southwest Airlines' commitment to customer service.
  • Adhere to all safety and security regulations and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic airport environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and ticketing software (training provided).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience, particularly in an airport or high-volume setting.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
  • A passion for aviation and travel.
