Job Description
Are you a dependable and energetic individual with a passion for driving and customer service? PepsiCo is seeking a highly motivated Beverage Delivery Driver for our high-activity local suburban routes in Jersey City, NJ. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of a wide range of PepsiCo beverage products to various establishments, including supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, and other retail locations. This position requires excellent physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining positive client relationships. You will operate company vehicles, manage inventory, and ensure timely and accurate deliveries within specified territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company delivery trucks (e.g., Class A or Class B CDL vehicles) safely and efficiently on high-activity local suburban routes.
- Load and unload beverage products at designated customer locations, which may involve heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Verify accuracy of product shipments against delivery manifests and invoices.
- Collect payments from customers and accurately reconcile daily receipts.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, resolving minor issues or escalating as needed.
- Organize and maintain product inventory within the delivery vehicle.
- Work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items repeatedly (up to 50 lbs unassisted, and more with equipment).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with local Jersey City and surrounding suburban routes.
- Basic math skills for invoice reconciliation and payment collection.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in beverage or food product delivery.
- Forklift certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other delivery equipment.
- Flexible availability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
