Job Description

Our Junior Hospital Porter position is designed for motivated individuals eager to make a difference. As a vital part of our hospital team, you will ensure the smooth and safe movement of patients, equipment, and supplies, contributing directly to patient care. This role offers comprehensive on-the-job training and a clear pathway for development, proving that a diploma isn’t always necessary to kickstart a meaningful career.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients, including those with mobility challenges, between wards, departments, and clinic areas.
- Move essential medical equipment, supplies, specimens, and patient notes throughout the hospital.
- Handle and deliver mail, pharmacy items, and linen.
- Manage and remove waste, ensuring adherence to infection control policies.
- Provide compassionate and respectful assistance to patients and visitors.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hospital policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina for duties involving walking, lifting, and pushing.
