Job Description
We are seeking dedicated Over-the-Road (OTR) Drivers to join our growing fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to drive brand new 2024 equipment across long-haul routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of freight. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently over long distances.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractors and trailers, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Safely load, unload, and secure cargo as needed.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding freight status, delays, and issues.
- Ensure on-time delivery of freight while prioritizing safety.
- Represent Knight-Swift Transportation professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen and physical
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage routes efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of verifiable OTR driving experience
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement
- Experience with refrigerated or specialized freight
- Proven track record of safe driving and on-time delivery
