Job Description
As a Netflix Compliance Reviewer – Safety & Content Standards, you will play a crucial role in upholding Netflix’s commitment to content integrity and viewer safety. You will meticulously review a wide range of content, ensuring compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry standards related to content classifications, intellectual property, and ethical guidelines. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of cultural nuances and ethical considerations in media. You will be instrumental in maintaining the trust and satisfaction of Netflix’s global audience by ensuring all content aligns with our core values and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of Netflix content (films, series, documentaries, etc.) against established safety guidelines, content standards, and legal compliance protocols.
- Identify and categorize content that may contain sensitive material, hate speech, misinformation, or other objectionable elements, ensuring appropriate flagging and action.
- Collaborate with content teams, legal departments, and external regulators to interpret and apply complex content policies.
- Document review findings accurately and provide clear, concise feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Stay informed about evolving global content regulations, cultural sensitivities, and industry best practices.
- Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistent application of content standards across the team.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of content review processes and guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) in content moderation, compliance, or quality assurance roles, preferably within media or technology.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and potentially disturbing content maturely.
- Strong ethical compass and understanding of diverse cultural contexts.
- Proficiency in using review tools and software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Media Studies, Communications, Law, or a related field.
- Familiarity with international content rating systems (e.g., MPAA, PEGI, BBFC) and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with large-scale content platforms or streaming services.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Certification in compliance or regulatory affairs.
