Job Description

Are you a compassionate individual driven by a desire to support others through profound life transitions? Corewell Health is seeking a dedicated Grief & Loss Mentor to join our team in Grand Rapids. In this vital role, you will provide empathetic guidance and practical support to individuals and families navigating the complexities of grief and loss. You will facilitate supportive interactions, help individuals process their emotions, and connect them with resources that promote long-term well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to individuals and families experiencing grief and loss.
  • Offer empathetic listening and a non-judgmental space for emotional processing.
  • Assist mentees in identifying and developing coping strategies for grief.
  • Connect individuals with relevant internal and external support resources, including counseling services, support groups, and community programs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and social workers to ensure holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of mentee interactions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to grief support and bereavement care.
  • Advocate for the needs of mentees within the healthcare system.

  • Familiarity with local Grand Rapids community resources.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
