Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Policy Analyst with a strong focus on performance-based pay to join our dynamic team in Old Pasadena. In this role, you will be instrumental in researching, developing, and implementing compensation policies and programs that align with client business objectives and market best practices. You will analyze complex data, identify trends, and provide expert recommendations to optimize performance incentives and ensure equitable and competitive pay structures. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of compensation strategies for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on performance-based pay trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Develop, review, and refine compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures with a specific emphasis on performance metrics and incentive structures.
- Analyze compensation data, market benchmarks, and internal equity to assess the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing pay programs.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with HR, legal, and business leaders to ensure compensation policies are legally compliant and effectively implemented.
- Provide expert consultation and guidance on performance management and reward systems.
- Stay abreast of relevant legislative changes and economic factors impacting compensation and benefits.
- Participate in client meetings and workshops to present findings and facilitate policy discussions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Policy Analyst or in a similar role with a focus on compensation, rewards, or HR analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
- Solid understanding of compensation principles, job evaluation methodologies, and performance management systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, Human Resources Management).
- Certification such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or GRP (Global Remuneration Professional).
- Experience working in a consulting environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS and compensation management software.
- Experience with predictive analytics and statistical modeling.
