Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Part-time Site Security – Weekend Licensed Guard for night shifts in the Federal Hill area of Baltimore, MD. This vital role involves maintaining a secure and safe environment for our clients during weekend nights. The ideal candidate will be a licensed security professional with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to act calmly and effectively in various situations. You will be a crucial part of our team, ensuring the protection of property and personnel, and upholding the highest standards of security service.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas on foot and/or in a vehicle, performing security checks and observing for unusual activity or safety hazards.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, alarms, and access points; control and document entry and exit of personnel and visitors.
- Respond to emergencies, alarms, and incidents, following established protocols to ensure safety and security.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain order and protect property.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients, employees, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches or incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
- Perform inspections of fire safety and other emergency equipment.
Required Skills
- Valid State Security Guard License (Maryland preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to operate security equipment and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Clean criminal record and drug screen.
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related field.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Experience with report writing software.
