Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Weekend Recycling Hand to join our team at our state-of-the-art recycling facility in South Bend. This part-time position is ideal for individuals looking for consistent weekend work, contributing to the vital process of waste diversion and resource recovery. You will be an integral part of our plant operations, ensuring materials are sorted and processed efficiently and safely. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience in recycling is necessary – just a willingness to learn and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manually sort various recyclable materials (e.g., cardboard, plastics, glass) on a conveyor belt or designated areas.
  • Monitor the quality of sorted materials, removing contaminants as necessary.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and free of hazards throughout the shift.
  • Follow all safety protocols and operational procedures diligently.
  • Assist with general plant cleanup and maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Operate basic machinery or equipment as needed after appropriate training.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production and sorting targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate material sorting.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance, especially for weekend shifts.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.

Preferred Qualifications
