Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Logistics Labourer to join our dynamic team in Colchester, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for immediate start work with attractive penalty rates. As a Logistics Labourer, you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient movement and handling of goods. We are looking for someone who is physically fit, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided, so while some experience is a plus, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload vehicles efficiently and safely, using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, trolleys, etc.).
  • Sort, scan, and store incoming and outgoing goods accurately.
  • Pick and pack orders according to specified requirements, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Perform general warehouse duties, including maintaining cleanliness and organisation.
  • Operate warehouse equipment in a safe and responsible manner (training provided).
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Forklift license (reach or counterbalance) is an advantage but not essential.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
