Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Laundry Porter to join our busy team in Clifton, Nottingham. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of linens within our industrial laundry facility and between various departments. This position requires someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a continuous supply of clean linen for our hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Transporting clean and soiled linens between the laundry facility, storage areas, and guest rooms/departments.
- Loading and unloading industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment.
- Sorting linens according to type and condition, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the laundry and linen storage areas.
- Operating laundry equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Assisting with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy bags of linen (up to 25kg).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry, warehouse, or hospitality environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills.
