Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Forensic Transcriptionist with a strong focus on Adliye (legal/court) support to join our dynamic team in Jurupa Valley. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing audio and video recordings from various legal proceedings, investigations, and forensic analyses. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional listening skills, a profound understanding of legal terminology and procedures, and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality and precision. This position is vital to supporting our clients in complex legal cases, ensuring that every spoken word is meticulously documented for review and evidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe audio and video recordings of legal proceedings, interviews, interrogations, and other forensic materials with high accuracy and speed.
  • Ensure strict adherence to legal and company-specific formatting guidelines and transcription standards.
  • Verify proper spelling of names, technical terms, and legal jargon through research and reference materials.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security protocols for all sensitive information and case materials.
  • Organize and manage transcription projects, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with legal teams regarding project status and any potential issues.
  • Review and proofread completed transcripts for grammatical errors, punctuation, and overall coherence.
  • Utilize specialized transcription software and equipment efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in legal or forensic transcription.
  • Proficiency in legal terminology, court procedures, and the justice system (Adliye focus).
  • Exceptional listening skills with the ability to discern speech in varying audio qualities.
  • Advanced typing speed and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with transcription software and office productivity tools (e.g., MS Word).
  • Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Certification in Legal Transcription or Court Reporting.
  • Experience with digital audio/video editing software.
  • Familiarity with various recording formats and playback devices.
  • Bilingual capabilities (especially Spanish) are a plus, though not required.
