Job Description
As a Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff across various hospital units. This role is crucial in fostering a culture of continuous learning, ensuring high standards of patient care, and promoting professional development among our nurses. You will act as a mentor, resource, and expert clinician, supporting staff in enhancing their clinical skills, knowledge, and adherence to evidence-based practices and organizational policies. This is a Monday-Friday position, offering a stable and predictable schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs and in-services for nursing staff.
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify learning gaps and educational priorities.
- Develop and update educational materials, including curricula, presentations, and competency checklists.
- Provide direct instruction, clinical coaching, and mentoring to nursing staff.
- Ensure all training programs align with current evidence-based practices, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
- Facilitate orientation programs for new nursing hires.
- Maintain accurate records of staff training and competencies.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and other departments to achieve organizational goals.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committees.
- Stay current with professional nursing practice standards and educational methodologies.
Required Skills
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field (e.g., Education, Healthcare Administration).
- Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in adult education, staff development, or clinical instruction.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to critically analyze data and develop data-driven educational interventions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE) or in a clinical specialty.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning development.
- Experience in curriculum design and program evaluation.
- Previous leadership or charge nurse experience.
