Job Description
Are you passionate about hair color and eager to launch your career in a dynamic salon environment? Chatters Salon in Saskatoon is seeking a motivated Apprentice Colorist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with little to no experience to receive comprehensive, paid training in advanced coloring techniques, specifically balayage and highlights, from industry-leading professionals. You will learn the art and science of hair coloring, client consultation, product knowledge, and salon operations, all while earning a competitive wage. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior colorists and stylists with daily salon operations and client services.
- Prepare clients for color services, including shampooing, mixing color, and preparing tools.
- Observe and actively participate in balayage, highlight, and other advanced color applications.
- Learn and practice various coloring techniques under direct supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the salon, including styling stations, color bar, and tools.
- Provide excellent client support, ensuring comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit.
- Attend all training sessions and workshops to master new skills and techniques.
- Develop strong product knowledge and recommend appropriate retail products to clients.
- Assist with reception duties, scheduling, and inventory as needed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong passion for the beauty industry, especially hair coloring.
- Eagerness to learn and take direction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Customer-service oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a recognized cosmetology program.
- Basic knowledge of hair care products and services.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
