Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Plastic Surgery Nurse to join our distinguished team at Newport Beach Plastic Surgery. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional to thrive in a private boutique setting, providing world-class care to our valued patients. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in assisting with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. You will work closely with our board-certified plastic surgeons, contributing to a collaborative and patient-focused environment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for aesthetic medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative assessments, education, and support to patients.
- Assist surgeons during various plastic surgery procedures, ensuring sterility and patient safety.
- Perform post-operative care, including wound care, dressing changes, and monitoring patient recovery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Educate patients on post-operative instructions, medication regimens, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and charts.
- Prepare examination rooms, surgical suites, and equipment for procedures.
- Manage patient inquiries and provide guidance on treatment plans and recovery expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and clinic policies.
- Collaborate effectively with medical assistants, aestheticians, and front office staff.
Required Skills
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in plastic surgery, dermatology, or aesthetics.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Proficiency in sterile technique and surgical assisting.
- Strong understanding of plastic surgery procedures and patient recovery processes.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with various aesthetic treatments and technologies (e.g., injectables, lasers).
- Prior experience in a private practice or boutique clinic setting.
