Job Description
BayCare Health System is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mobile Clinic Driver to join our Healthcare Outreach team. This vital role involves safely operating our mobile health clinic, transporting medical staff, equipment, and supplies to various community sites across Pasco County. In a hybrid work model, you will also support the team with remote administrative tasks, ensuring our outreach programs run smoothly and effectively. You will be a frontline representative of BayCare, interacting directly with community members and playing a crucial role in expanding access to healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a mobile health clinic vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport medical staff, equipment, and supplies to designated community outreach sites.
- Assist with the efficient setup and breakdown of mobile clinic sites, ensuring a welcoming and functional environment.
- Provide compassionate and professional interaction with diverse patient populations and community members.
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle maintenance, mileage, and service records, ensuring compliance and safety.
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and address any mechanical issues.
- Assist clinic staff with patient registration, scheduling, and basic administrative tasks, utilizing remote capabilities when not driving.
- Ensure the mobile clinic is kept clean, well-stocked, and prepared for daily service.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and patient privacy guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with clinical staff and program coordinators to optimize outreach efforts.
Required Skills
- Valid Class E (or equivalent) Driver's License with an impeccable driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional driving experience, preferably with larger vehicles or in a passenger transport role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
- Ability to lift and move medical equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software) for administrative duties.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to community service and public health.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare or community outreach setting is highly advantageous.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) is strongly preferred to better serve our diverse communities.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
