Job Description
Join the U-Haul team as a Truck Rental Counter Agent, where you’ll be the face of our service for customers embarking on their moving journey. This pivotal customer service role involves assisting clients with truck and trailer rentals, answering inquiries, processing transactions, and ensuring a smooth and positive rental experience. If you have a passion for helping people and a knack for problem-solving, we want you on our team in New Port Richey!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with the rental process for trucks, trailers, and other moving equipment.
- Accurately complete rental contracts and process payments.
- Provide detailed information on rental agreements, insurance options, and safe operating procedures.
- Conduct vehicle inspections upon check-out and check-in, documenting any damage.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized counter area and assist with merchandise stocking.
- Promote U-Haul products and services to enhance the customer moving experience.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and operational guidelines.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to operate a computer and point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic mathematical skills for processing transactions.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or rental environment.
- Familiarity with truck or automotive rental procedures.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
