Job Description
AutoZone is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic technology team in Memphis, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable software solutions that power our vast retail operations, e-commerce platforms, and supply chain. You will work within a collaborative Agile environment, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and significantly impact our business through innovative technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Lead technical design sessions and contribute to architectural decisions for new and existing systems.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Perform code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and system performance requirements.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system stability and optimal performance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application to AutoZone's technology stack.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, C#, or Go.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) for full-stack development roles.
- Experience working in a large-scale retail or e-commerce environment.
- Familiarity with message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques.
