Job Description
Join the Morrisons team as a Root Vegetable Sorter in our busy post-harvest processing facility. This vital role involves inspecting, sorting, and preparing various root vegetables for distribution to our stores. You will be an integral part of our quality control process, ensuring only the freshest and highest-quality produce reaches our customers. This is an on-site, hands-on role requiring attention to detail and a commitment to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect root vegetables (e.g., carrots, potatoes, parsnips) for quality, size, and damage.
- Sort vegetables according to predefined specifications and remove any substandard items.
- Operate and monitor sorting equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all hygiene and safety protocols.
- Assist with packing and labeling sorted produce for dispatch.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
