Job Description
Amazon Logistics is seeking highly motivated and reliable Box Truck Owner Operators to partner with us for last-mile delivery services in the Baltimore area. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for operating your own box truck (typically 16-26 ft) to efficiently pick up, sort, and deliver a variety of packages directly to our customers’ doorsteps. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate your own box truck for daily last-mile delivery routes.
- Adhere to designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle.
- Load and unload packages with care, ensuring product integrity.
- Utilize Amazon's proprietary delivery technology and applications.
- Provide excellent customer service during all interactions.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance for yourself and your vehicle.
- Comply with all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Manage your own business operations, including vehicle maintenance, fuel, and insurance.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Box Truck Operator or similar role (minimum 2 years).
- Valid driver's license (Class C or equivalent for vehicles under 26,000 lbs GVWR, or Class B CDL if operating heavier box trucks).
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to safety and customer service.
- Possession of a reliable, well-maintained box truck (16-26 ft) with appropriate commercial insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in last-mile delivery or route-based services.
- Familiarity with the Baltimore metropolitan area, including Fells Point.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and business management skills.
- Experience using delivery management software or mobile applications.
