Job Description
We are actively seeking compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our dynamic team at WVU Medicine in Morgantown, WV. This role offers flexible scheduling options including 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts to accommodate your work-life balance while providing exceptional patient care. As an RN, you will play a critical role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, contributing to a positive patient experience and clinical outcomes within our state-of-the-art medical center.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
- Monitor patient conditions, interpret vital signs, and report changes to the medical team promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in unit meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
Required Skills
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- 1+ year of experience in an acute care setting.
- Specialty certification relevant to area of practice.
