Job Description
Are you a former CDL-A driver looking to re-enter the trucking industry? XPO Logistics is offering a comprehensive, paid CDL-A Refresher Course and Back to Work Program designed to help you regain your confidence, update your skills, and secure a full-time driving position with us. This program provides hands-on training, classroom instruction, and the necessary support to ensure you meet all current regulatory requirements and driving standards. Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in classroom and behind-the-wheel CDL-A refresher training sessions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in pre-trip inspections, vehicle operation, and defensive driving techniques.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Complete all required paperwork and logbook entries accurately.
- Pass all necessary assessments and road tests to meet CDL-A licensing standards.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude throughout the training program.
- Collaborate with instructors and fellow trainees to foster a supportive learning environment.
Required Skills
- Valid (or recently expired) Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) for the past 3-5 years.
- Previous experience operating Class A commercial vehicles.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Familiarity with various types of freight and hauling equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
