Job Description
Are you ready to turn your workout into your workday? Lowe’s Home Improvement in Louisville is seeking enthusiastic and physically capable individuals to join our team as a Hardware Store Loader. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys physical work, and is looking for a role that keeps them active. As a Loader, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that products are moved efficiently and safely throughout the store and to customers’ vehicles. This is a hands-on position that requires heavy lifting and constant movement, offering a great workout while you work.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload merchandise from delivery trucks.
- Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles, ensuring products are secured.
- Move heavy and bulky items within the store, including lumber, concrete, appliances, and large equipment.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness of the loading dock, receiving areas, and other designated zones.
- Operate material handling equipment (such as pallet jacks or forklifts) if certified, or be willing to learn and get certified.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and customers.
- Support store operations by helping with product stocking, merchandising, and general upkeep as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 70 pounds) frequently throughout a shift.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing ladders for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or physically demanding role.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service experience.
