Job Description
Join Leon’s Furniture as a Delivery Offsider and become a vital part of our delivery team! This physically demanding role involves assisting our drivers with the safe and efficient delivery and installation of furniture and appliances to customer homes. Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading furniture, appliances, and other merchandise onto and off delivery trucks.
- Safely and carefully carry heavy and bulky items into customer homes, navigating various terrains and entryways.
- Assemble furniture and install appliances as required, ensuring proper function and customer satisfaction.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Verify merchandise against delivery invoices, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle and equipment.
- Assist with other warehouse or delivery-related duties as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to consistently lift and move heavy items (up to 75 lbs) independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength for repetitive lifting, carrying, bending, and standing.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Positive attitude and a customer-focused approach.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, warehousing, or physically demanding role.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with furniture assembly or appliance installation.
- Valid G-class driver's license and a clean driving record (even if not driving the main truck).
