Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Hotel Porter to join our welcoming team in Swansea. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the first point of contact for many of our guests, playing a crucial role in creating a positive and memorable experience. You will be responsible for assisting guests with their luggage, providing information, and ensuring the smooth operation of the lobby and entrance areas. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, with a supportive team and excellent benefits, including paid sick leave and paid time off.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with luggage handling and transportation to and from their rooms.
- Escort guests to their rooms, providing information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Assist guests with inquiries, directions, and special requests, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and presentable lobby and entrance area.
- Run errands for guests and perform other duties as required to support hotel operations.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and courteously, or escalate to management when necessary.
- Operate and maintain hotel equipment safely, such as luggage trolleys.
- Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy luggage.
- A friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of the local area (Swansea) and its attractions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role.
- Knowledge of an additional language.
- Familiarity with hotel operating systems.
