Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmaceutical Chemist to join our high-end biotech research and development team in Orlando, FL. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects, developing and optimizing novel pharmaceutical compounds and formulations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analytical method development, characterization, and quality control of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and drug products. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute complex chemical experiments for the synthesis, purification, and characterization of pharmaceutical compounds.
  • Develop, validate, and troubleshoot analytical methods using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, NMR, FTIR, and UV-Vis.
  • Perform rigorous quality control testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products.
  • Analyze and interpret analytical data, generate reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and all safety regulations.
  • Maintain meticulous laboratory records, notebooks, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory instrumentation, performing calibration and routine maintenance.
  • Collaborate effectively with medicinal chemists, formulation scientists, and regulatory affairs specialists to advance projects.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, MS, NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis) and data interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of organic reaction mechanisms and synthetic chemistry principles.
  • Familiarity with GMP/GLP regulations and quality control processes in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to design experiments, troubleshoot issues, and solve complex scientific problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present scientific data clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with method development and validation for pharmaceutical analysis.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for drug development and submissions (e.g., FDA, ICH).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software and LIMS systems.
  • Experience with process development and scale-up activities.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals or presentations at scientific conferences.
